Trans-Tasman bubble to remain despite New Zealand COVID-19 case

The trans-Tasman bubble will not be derailed despite New Zealand reporting a locally acquired case of COVID-19 just 48 hours after the travel arrangement was announcement. Health Minister Greg Hunt has downplayed fears the bubble would be cancelled and expressed confidence in New Zealand’s outbreak control. The confirmed case is a 24-year-old man who worked as a security guard at an Auckland hotel quarantine facility.
