Royal documents show Prince Charles gave Harry ‘substantial sum’

One of the most shocking claims in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey was Prince Charles had cut his son off financially in the months after the couple withdrew from Royal duties. Royal accounts published today show that Prince Charles did in fact give the couple a grant to help them with the transition away from Royal life. A spokesperson for Clarence House said Prince Charles “allocated a substantial sum to support them” after they stepped down. “That funding ceased in the summer of last year, the couple are now financially independent,” the spokesperson said.
