Heavy rain caused flash flooding in the Detroit Metro area on Friday afternoon, July 16, falling at a rate of one inch per hour in some parts of the region, the National Weather Service (NWS) said. Footage shared on Twitter shows a vehicle driving on a flooded road in Detroit on Friday afternoon. “I’m pretty sure I’m about to see Noah’s Ark floating down my street any minute now,” the uploader joked. The NWS reminded motorists not to drive through flooded roadways. Wayne and Washtenaw Counties were under a flood advisory through Friday afternoon. Credit: Dee via Storyful
