Lifeline breaks record for most calls in single day amid lockdowns

Lifeline has again broken its record for the most calls received in a single day as the stress of COVID lockdowns increases demand for the support line. Just under three and a half thousand calls were made on Monday, as the highest in lifeline’s 57-year history. Highlighting the mental toll of the pandemic, Lifeline has revealed five of its 10 busiest-ever days all occurred this past month.
