Colorado’s Growing Ptarmigan Fire Prompts Further Evacuations

Fresh evacuations were ordered in Summit County, Colorado, on Tuesday, September 28, as the Ptarmigan Fire grew to between 85 and 100 acres. This footage filmed by Twitter user @HighCountry_HR, who said it was taken in the Silverthorne suburb of Wildernest on Tuesday, shows aircraft circling the blaze as smoke wafts above the area.
