Parts of regional and remote New South Wales are enjoying increased freedoms today after the lockdown was lifted overnight. The changes extend to low-risk areas which have seen zero COVID-19 cases for at least 14 days and means up to five visitors will be allowed in a home and 20 people can gather in outdoor settings. Schools will return to in-person learning and hospitality venues can reopen under the one person per four square metre rule but the government says high vaccinations rates are the key to easing restrictions.
