Residents of a village in Maharashtra were airlifted to safety by the Indian Air Force on September 29 after Cyclonic Storm Gulab caused flooding. This video from the Indian Air Force depicts the rescue of people from the roof of a “makeshift hut”, which is surrounded by floodwater. The Air Force said they rescued three people in Latur, and a further 16 in Osmanabad the day before. At least 13 people have died since September 27 due to conditions caused by Cyclonic Storm Gulab in Maharashtra, according to India Today.
