Nick Coatsworth questions Victoria’s reopening plan for schools

Infectious diseases expert Dr Nick Coatsworth says "when we say schools need to reopen – they actually need to reopen". Dr Coatsworth told Sky News Australia the biggest damage that is occurring at the moment is not having kids at school. "Melbourne having the longest lockdown is now going into a situation where it is one of the only places in the world with vaccination rates that high that is still closing schools," Dr Coatsworth said. "Schools open and then a couple of days later they close again – I really struggle to see the justification for that. "I do hope that there is a very rapid change, if not in days then certainly no longer than a week or so of changing that policy because I just don't see it being justified."
