Prime Minister Scott Morrison has accused the Queensland government of using the pandemic to try and extort money from the Commonwealth. It comes as states call for a hospital top up in order to open up. In order to reopen the country and restore voter confidence the federal government needs states to adhere to the agreed national roadmap – opening borders at 80 per cent double jab rate. But PM Scott Morrison unleashed on the Palaszczuk government for demanding extra federal funding will be needed to boost hospital capacity for when the virus arrives. Mr Morrison said Queensland was trying to "extort" the federal government and hold them to ransom on the basis of COVID. "How else would you like me to call it," he said.
