First responders are continuing to search for survivors from last week’s Miami apartment building collapse as the death toll rises to 10 and more than 150 people remain unaccounted for. CNN reporter Isabel Rosales told Sky News the rescue operation was the “largest deployment of search and rescue crews in the state of Florida during non-hurricane times”. “They’re throwing everything at this. Sonar, cameras, listening devices, and they are delayering all of this debris,” she said. No official cause has been established for the collapse, but a team of federal agents have been deployed to investigate. A contributing factor may include the failure of waterproofing along the pool and the pool deck which was pointed out by a structural engineer in a 2018 report.
