International cargo ships will no longer be able to undertake crew changes or make on-shore visits to COVID hotspots while travelling to Western Australia. Premier Mark McGowan has warned vessels which do not follow the new safety precautions could be banned from entering the state’s ports. This comes after a COVID-infected ship from Indonesia arrived on Monday and was the fourth vessel carrying infected crew members in recent weeks.
